Bear of the Week
Home
Every Monday we draw a name from our classroom for the Bear of the Week! A large sheet of paper/poster will be sent home with one child every Friday. The child will need to create a Bear of the Week poster and bring it to school on Monday! Your child can use pictures, draw, and write on the poster! These are the questions your child should answer and be ready to share on Monday:

My name is __________.
I was born on _____________.
I am ___ years old.
I have ___ sister(s) and ___ brother(s) named ____________.
I have __ pet(s). They are/It is ___________________.
My favorite color is ________.
My favorite game is ________.
My favorite book is _________.
My favorite thing to do is __________________.
When I order ice-cream, I like __________.
My favorite thing to do at school is ______________.
When I'm not at school, I like to __________.
When I grow up, I'd like to be a __________________.
The best thing about me is ______________.

Please be sure to answer all of these questions. Your child can arrange the poster and answer in questions in any order!

On Tuesday the Bear of the Week will get to bring his/her favorite picture book to read to the class or have Mrs. Norton read it to the class.

On Wednesday the Bear of the Week gets to bring a Mystery Box. The bear will put an object in the box that is special to him/her. The bear will write five clues to describe the object in the box. The class will try to guess the mystery! (This is a fun way to do show and tell!)

On Thursday the Bear may invite a lunch buddy to come and eat lunch with him/her. This can be a mom, dad, uncle, grandma, grandpa, etc. Lunch is from 11:40 - 12:10. Please let us know who will be coming.

On Friday, the Bear will receive "honey" from his/her classmates. These are small notes that the classmates will create for the Bear. The notes will consist of pretty pictures and things that they like about the Bear! It is the Bear's treasure to keep!

Again, each week one Bear is selected randomly. We simply draw a name from a basket! Each child will get to be the bear one time this year. If your child brings home the special paper/post on Friday you will know that your child has been chosen as the Bear of the Week!
