| Central Cabarrus Named NFCA High School National Coaching Staff of the Year | |||||||||

| Head coach Monte Sherrill, along with assistant coaches Charlie Blackwelder and Eric Cook, have been tabbed the NFCA High School National Coaching Staff of the Year after leading Central Cabarrus High School (Concord, NC) to a state-record 56 game winning streak and a No. 3 ranking in the final USA Today/NFCA High School Top 25 Poll. The Vikings won the North Carolina Carolina Class 4A championship, and finished the 2005 season undefeated. Sherrill, in his second year at the helm of the Cabarrus program, lead the Vikings to a 32-0 record in 2005 with an impressive overall record of 64-1. The Viking Staff was also honored as the NFCA South Central regional staff of the year. |
