Objective: Students will research economic, social, and political events of the war and pre-war period, specifically pertaining to North Carolina, while encouraging students to explore local history and contact local and professional historians.
NCSCS Goal: (5.1) Elaborate on economic, social, and political conditions in the decade preceding the Civil War. (5.3) Trace important military and political events of the war period, and judge their significance to the outcome of the conflict.
