COURSE DESCRIPTION ADVANCED NEW TESTAMENT GRADES 10-12 This is an elective course for high school students. One unit of credit can be earned for the semester. This course includes a brief overview and review of lntroduction to the New Testament, and includes research and reference skills. Focus is on the remaining books of the New Testament. Supplies for class: I. Bibles are required and used daily. It is suggested that you bring your own Bible. However, if you do not own a Bible, there are Bibles in the classroom for you to use. 2. Notebooks are also required. This should be a loose-leaf notebook in which daily notes are kept and handouts are placed. Classroom Expectations: I. Be in the classroom when the tardy bell BEGINS to ring. 2. Be prepared for each class. 3. Vulgarity and profanity are not acceptable. 4. Be dressed appropriately for all school activities. CONSEQUENCES: Ist Offense -Warning 2nd Offense -Punishment (Teacher will select punishment to "fit" the offense.) 3rd Offense - Student/Teacher conference. Phone call to parents. 4th Offense - Trip to grade level principal. GRADING SYSTEM: 67% .Tests .Notebooks- To be kept daily; should contain notes and handouts from class. .Projects 33% .Daily- This includes notes taken in class, in-class activities and/or group activities, and assigned homework .Quizzes -There are weekly quizzes on assigned verses that are to be written from memory. There will also be weekly quizzes on the books of the Bible. Quizzes will also be given that are directly related to the material covered in class. However, these quizzes will not necessarily be given weekly. . |
