Driver Education
In order to enroll in Driver Education, a student must be 14 1/2 years old, have not previously taken the course, and be approved by the principal. 
Driver Education consists of 36 hours of instruction. This includes 6 hours of driving practice and 30 hours of classroom instruction. 6 of the 30 classroom hours will pertain to alcohol and drug education. Classes, by law, must be taught outside the hours of the regular school day.
Topsail High School students: Mr. Ritter has joined Mr. White as driver education instructors at Topsail High School. Mr. Ritter will be conducting class beginning Monday, February 17, 2003. The next class will be in late May of 2003.  Please see Mr. Ritter for details.
Pender High School students: Mr. Rabalais is working as the Driver Education contact at the school. The next class will start on February 24, 2003. There will be additional classes in June, 2003. See Mr. rabalais, Mr. Yount, or Mr. Johnson for further information.
Trask High School students: Mr. Mercier and Mr. Brooks are the contact persons at Trask. The next class is scheduled for February 24. Please see Mr. Mercier or Mr. Brooks for details.
