According to a study 1,379 reports against the Ahmadi community were published in the year 2005. The largest number appeared in Nawa-e-Waqt (287). Daily Pakistan was second with (159). In Jang (147). Khabrain (112) and Jang eveninger Awaz (109).

Daily Jang (September 16, 2005) printed a column by Saeed Ahmed Jalalpuri saying that according to Sharia killing the Qadianis was justified. Such people were not to be tolerated by Islam. A few days following this column, eight Ahmadis were killed in Mandi Bahauddin after someone opened fire on them in a mosque.

Daily Nawa-e-Waqt (April 3, 2006) printed a statement of Syed Hassan Akbar, Waseem Abbas, Ahsan Muhammadi and Hafiz Awais Mushtaq from Islamic Students Movement Sheikhupura. In which they said that by permitting Ahmadis to hold Majilis-e-Mushawarat at Chenab Nagar government had violated the Ideology of Pakistan and proved that they favoured Ahmadis. They also alleged that Ahmadi Jamat at Chenab Nagar were promoting to the ideology of Jews and Americans (Angarez) for their benefits.

Speakers of “Tajdar Khatm-e-Nabuwat” conference said that Ahmadis were conspiring against Pakistan and state official patronized them. They also demanded that the day when Ahmadis were declared Non-Muslims should be celebrated.                           Daily Pakistan September 8, 2006

Copies of Ahmadi magazines were confiscated at Chenab Nagar on the order of Governor Punjab Khalid Maqbool under the allegation that they had printed the material, preaching their religion. Daily Nawa-e-Waqt August 22, 2006

Dr. Sarfraz Naeemi said that anyone who recites Kalma Tayyaba should be considered a Muslim. If someone converts from Islam then it is the responsibility of the government to bring him or her back to Islam and if he or she does not accept it they should be killed after two or three days warning.                                                                                        Daily Pakistan July 16, 2006

Different Ulema Akaram addressed a seminar organized under Mutheda Majilis-e-Amal Tahafuz Khatm-e-Nabuwat said that Ahmadis are involved in anti government movements, they are planning to make Chenab Nagar their own state, they are preaching their religion through there magazines. Maulana Aziz ul Rehman Tani in a seminar organized by Almi Majlis Tahafuz Khatm-e-Nabuwat, that Ahmadis are involved in anti government and anti Islam policies, they are friends of Christians and Jews and enemies of Islam, they are not loyal with the religion and the country. He also demanded that they should be dismissed from the key posts of Pakistan. Daily Pakistan May10, 2006

Majlis-e-Ahrar Conference

Majlis Ahrar organized a two days conference at Rabwa. The salient features of the conference passed declaration were:

Awaken the Muslims in Rabwa and force the infidels (Qadianis) to flee.
It is a religious duty to expose Qadianis plans. Qadianis intend to create a law and order situation in Rabwa and provocation.
Qadianis are traitors and rebels against the country and its constitution. According to Sharia, they are apostates, and we demand a deserving treatment (death) for them as meted out to apostates.
Qadianis are playing a dangerous game (in Pakistan) behind the veil of human rights, social and educational services and NGOs.
We demand that the punishment of Apostasy (death) be legislated in Pakistan. Religion should be mentioned on National Identity Cards.
Qadiani places of worship should not be called mosques.

Allegation


Mufti Naeemi, of Majlis-e-Khatme-Nabuwat alleged that Taans Asia (probably Radio Varitas) radio stations were actively preaching Christianity (provided literature) and do propaganda against Islam. He also alleged that Christian organizations were involved in anti - Pakistan activities by preparing false reports of the problems faced by their community. He demanded that these radio stations should be banned.

Recommendations

1. The laws meant to be maintain peace and harmony must be properly implemented.

2. The steps such as stopping provocation through loud speakers banning extremist outfits, and seizing the hate mongering literature must be intensified, evaluated and their success must be ensured.
