TC's Jeep Oddities
An eclectic collection, to say the least.
I just wish the wife and neighbors were as enthusiastic as me.

1968 M715 1-1/4 ton Cargo Truck
230 Tornado I6
T-98 4 speed
NP200 divorced t'case
D60 front, D70 rear, 5.89 gears
Braden PTO winch
Pretty much original except for the 38/13-16 Swampers and a rear Detroit locker. I have loaded this truck from front to back and to the top of the bows with "green" oak and hickory and the suspension will just barely level out!
1968 M725 Field Ambulance
Same chassis as the M715
Fully outfitted with stretchers and racks, gas-fired heater, surgical light, spot light
A stylin' offroad camper.
1972 J4000 Camper Special
Another eBay jewel. The story goes that the original owner had used it for camping from Canada to Costa Rica, and I did find evidence of both. After a couple hours of tinkering, it runs and drives. The best part, though, is the body! It is amazingly well preserved, possibly due to being covered by a camper most of its life, and the fact that it had been Zeibart rust-proofed and undercoated. Another worthy of a restoration, me thinks.
Here are the specs:
8000GVW
360, TH400, D20, D44HD front, D60FF rear, 4.09 gears, power steering, power brakes.
Owner added A/C, cruise control, two extra fuel tanks, front sway bar, and dual rear wheels. He musta had a field day with the JC Whitney catalog.
1967 J-3000 Tow Truck
327 Vigilante V8
T-98 4 speed
D20 t'case
HD D44 front, D70 rear, 4.88 gears
Fully functional Holmes 500 twin boom wrecker bed has already brought home a few. Purchased from original owner! This one deserves a really nice restoration. I just hope I can get to it some day.
1966 M151A1 "MUTT"
Rescued from an old hunter that ragged it out to the point that it just wouldn't run anymore. After a lot of wrenching and a few new parts it is a seriously fun "old-school" trail machine. I have also acquired an M151A2 that is uncut but has been used hard all its life. I'll try to revive that one soon.
1985 CJ-10A Aircraft Tug
Nissan I6 Diesel
TF727 auto
NP208 t'case (for gear reduction)
D70 rear, locker, 4.88
Shown suspending the front half of an M151 from the cherry picker I added to the rear. Makes an awesome mobile hoist to help drag my junk around the yard.
1977 CJ-5
The one that started it all. About the only original part left of the Jeep I bought is the hood. Now sports a 360, T-18, D20 w/2.5 gears, D44 front and rear with 4.56 gears and Detroit lockers, 36-12.50x15 Swamper SX on  beadlocks, on-board air, full cage, and lots of trail damage.
1948 CJ-2A Willys
225 Dauntless V6
T-14 3 speed
D18 t'case twin stick
D25 front, D41 rear, 5.38
34-9.50x15 Swampers
Originally bought as a body donor, but I soon realized it was just to cool to hack up. I installed the V6 (using factory parts from a 68 CJ) because the ole flathead four was blowing more gases out of the crankcase than the tailpipe.
