FAQs:
What is NCHWS ?
This is a club of people residing within driving distance of Lake County who enjoy history and the re-inactment of historical battles using table-top rule sets and miniature soldiers and equipment. Periods specialized in are French & Indian War, American Revolution, and American Civil War.
When does NCHWS meet?
Members meet whenever one wants to sponsor/lead a game. This is generally Saturdays from every other month to twice a month depending on schedules.
Which periods of history are played?
The club specializes in land actions of the American Civil War, American Revolution, and French & Indian War, but play other periods as resources are available.
Who can play?
Anyone from age 8 to 80+ who is interested in history and is willing to be patient to learn the rules and have fun.
Where are the games played?
Generally the games are set up at a member's house. The club also sponsors games at conventions in Ohio. Sometimes games are held as sponsored by other groups in Lake County.
How are the games played?
Besides the miniature figures which can be made of plastic or metal, other tools used in the game are rulers or tape measures for measuring distance, dice for resolving combat, templates for measuring angle of fire,etc. There are both elements of strategy and tactics as well as chance in these engagements.
