Shelly, Pat and Lorna attended the installation of Shelly for Woman of the Year on March 17. We attended a special Mass celebrated by Archbishop Wilton Gregory and many other priests including Father Raj. A light lunch followed the Mass. 2. Update on BBQ ticket sales: Approximately 140 tickets distributed. Need tickets sold count by April 15. 3. A checking account has been established in Warm Springs for the flower fund. Nancy Dunn and Nancy White are signers on the account. Account balance is 124.00 4. Lorna puchased Little Debbi cakes for the Milledgeville ditty bags and sent them to St. Peter's CCW. 5. Another place needs to be chosen for Ladies Night Out. The City cafe in Fayetteville is not open on May 1 for dinner. Amended motion to keep City cafe as the location and change the date to Friday, May 4. Carpool from the church will leave at 6:00 P.M. RSVP to Pat ASAP. Motion passed. 6. Read and discussed tabled AACCW insert. Applications to join AACCW were passed out. Fee is 20.00 a year and includes a Catholic women's magazine subscription. New Business: 1. Fall fundraiser ideas and suggestions were discussed. Suggestion for an October yard sale was made. Barbara Reed and Glenda Walker are working on a theme. Advertise in local newspapers and possibly the Atlanta paper. Idea of having local craft artist booths set up for a percentage of the sale. 2. AACCW Douth Deanery dues are due by April 14. Motion made to pay dued by Glenda and seconded by Pat. 3. AACCW South Deanery spring luncheon will be April 14 with reservations due by April 9. Guest speaker, Carol Prince, will discuss the effects of drug abuse on families. The meeting will also be for election of officers. The luncheon will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 3 Village Road, Newnan. Lorna has directions to the church. They are not yet listed on MapQuest or Yahoo maps. Pat will make reservations. If you would like to attend, contact Pat ASAP. 4. AACCW Fall Convention September 28-30 at Holiday Inn Select in Atlanta. Phone 770-296-6011 for reservations. More information will be available at a later date. 5. Do we wish to have an ad in the AACCW 2007 Convetion program? Ads may be in the form of advertisements, memorials, honor and patron donations. Prices range from 10.00 - 75.00. Deadline for submissions is July 15. Contact Lorna for extra forms. 6. Have a wonderful summer. See you in August. Lorna will provide refreshments for the August meeting. Refreshment schedule for the year will be made for the upcoming year in August. 7. Nancy White will be interim Treasurer when current secretary/treasurer Shelly Pellerin moves out of state in the summer. A new secretary/treasurer will need to be elected at the August meeting. 8. BBQ menu update: gerald Gallion's niece in Pine Mountain will order and cook the pork loins. Signup sheet for donation of baked goods is on the bulletin board. Please sign up! Finalization of the BBQ grocery list was made. We will meet at the church on Friday, April 20, to prepare the cooked pork and on Saturday morning, April 21, to prepare the side dishes. Anyone wishing to attend the installation for Shelly Pellerin on March 17th, please contact Lorna Meier so we can carpool from church. Departure time will be 7:30 A.M. 2. The flower fund checking account has been established in Warm Springs. 3. Tickets are available for our BBQ dinner. Everyone please ell at least 10 tickets. This will be one of our major fundraisers this year. An announcement will be made in church asking all members to help sell tickets. Total count of tickets sold and turn-in date is April 15. New Business 1. Additional ideas for community outreach projects have been tabled until next month's meeting. 2. CCW will donate Little Debbie snack cakes for the Milledgeville ditty bags. Lorna will purchase the cakes and send them to LaGrange via Father. Deadline is March 19. 3. Suggestions for Ladies Night Out: Date - May 1, Where - City Cafe in Fayetteville. This will be announced in the church bulletin, along with an RSVP date of April 27. 4. NCCW membership application discussion was tabled until next month's meeting. 5.
