Child Family Christmas Memories
Mom and Dad always made Christmas very special for us seven kids.  I can still see and hear my father and 5 brothers trying to squeeze an enormous Christmas tree into the house. The living room in the old colonial house had 12 foot ceilings and the room was large.  The tree touched the ceiling and covered a whole corner of the room!
Mom made tons of cakes, pies, cookies and more for everyone to eat on Christmas Day. All our gifts were wrapped with loving care and placed under the tree.  As I grew older I realized that most families opened their gifts at the same time.  Our family took turns opening them one at a time and everyone watched to see what everyone else got. It was really nice and it also made Christmas morning last longer!  I have, of course, passed on that tradition to my own family.  The girls open one at a time.  I could go on and on with my Christmas memories but I'll just say, "Thanks Mom and Dad for wonderful memories that will last a lifetime."  --Nancy
