In honor and memory of the men of the USS Henry A. Wiley DM29 |
This site is dedicated to the men who served on the USS Henry A. Wiley during her first year of service ( August 31, 1944 to August 31, 1945). I have searched the internet for a site about the Wiley and have come up with very little. This is what prompted me to develop this site. My father, John Bias, was on the Wiley. This is my way of remembering him and all of his shipmates. Please keep in mind, though, that the credit for this site does not go to me. I have a scrapbook that was given to my dad and that is where I am getting the information for this site. Were it not for the men who put this book together, I would have nothing to work from. Specific names mentioned as having been on the book staff are: Lt. L.B. Varney, USNR Ensign R.F. Guthrie, USNR R.E. Daniels, Y 2c W.A. Clifford, Rdm 2c W.A. Zinzow, QM 2c R.W. Beall, Rdm 3c Thanks to you, the memory of these men will live on. |
