Their sister site is still up so check it out. http://www.fabletlcmod.com Age Reducing This is a copy and paste from my older posts on the matter. Remember how age is calculated. There are a couple quests in game that do age you, but its entirely possible to beat the game at the age of 20 without using the temples to reduce age. You age 0.7 years per visit to the guilds experience gate. So limiting the trips to the Experience gate will allow you to maintain a younger character throughout the game. How to take advantage of the Hero save method In game, you can reduce your age by up to 20 years at the 2 temples. In theory, using the hero save method you can do it many times to get as young as you want. This method does work, but is time consuming. Also several have commented that there is a glitch when using the hero save more than 15 times in the game which cuts the hero save out completely. I've never personally seen it, but it is possible. I've hero saved 50+ times on the same game and nothing happened, but anything is possible. The secret is to maximize your saves. Since you are given several slots when saving to, I have devised a way to take advantage of this when doing the hero save method. 1) World save prior to attempting the hero save method. This will give you a revert point incase something does happen. You can also back this save up to a different location on your hard drive just for the sake of something causing a corrupt save file. 2) Autosave will happen each time you start the quest, thus giving you 1 save prior to any problems. 3) Since you have multiple slots to save, hero save to a different slot each time. That way you have a save prior to the save that caused a problem, a save (auto save) before you did the hero save but after your last successful hero save, and a save (world save) prior to attempting the hero save method. 4) Finally, after your last succesful hero save, the first chance, world save, but not over your world save prior to the attempt (just until you can tell if anything is wrong) So world save, then make sure not to save over the world save during hero saves. Then make sure you hero save into different locations without overwriting one unless necessary. That way you have different saves to revert to incase something does happen. You can go back as far as you wish this way (depending on the amount of saves you do) Its just a smart thing to do when attempting to exploit the hero save. You can never be too safe when using a save exploit such as this. Alternative Ways of Reducing Age There is a 2nd way to do this without the hero save. You can continually donate to the temples and sometimes it will sort of glitch and drop your age more. . I did it at Avo. I donated about 1,500,000 in 45,000 intervals. I would donate a few times, leave, do some stuff, then come back and donate more. I dropped my age from 65 to 20. Its not a 100% guarantee, It works sometimes, sometimes It doesn't. It just depends on how much time you want to spend in game attempting it. I've yet to figure out what causes this but working on it. Then there is the Fable TLC Mod. Located at http://www.fabletlcmod.com I do not recommend using mods unless one knows what they are doing because you can seriously corrupt your saved games as well as corrupting other files. It is entirely possible to cause a virus by doing this. Thats what a majority of virus' are, corrupted files. Usually its not that bad, but they can have serious effects. So know what you are doing when messing with mods. Alignment - The Good, The Bad, The Scarred Alignment has many factors. "True" alignment is maxed when a your character is naked. If you have equipment on that modifies your alignment, you do not truly have a maxed alignment and therefore you will not get the features of having a maxed alignment. Some equipment can take your character from 10% evil to almost 80% good with just one piece. Many of them can make a 10-20% good character 100% good with alignment modifiers. But again, they're not truly 100% good, still only 10-20% and will only have features of a 10-20% character. Features of each alignment include: Good - Halo, butterflies and a faint blue light, light hair (white\blonde) and blue eyes. Evil - Horns, swarm of flies and smoke at your feet, dark hair (black\dark brown) and red eyes Maxing out your will powers in the guild will cause glowing hands and such similar to maze. It will be more dominate looking as a good hero more so than an evil hero. But the glowing make for a nice attribute for the look. Scarring has no effect from alignment or will powers. Scars are from battling. Scars remain forever, unless you use a mod. As you age, they get lighter as if in real life. Getting younger makes them more dominate and more notable. Owning your own Business You do not actually own your own business, unless you consider a landlord as a business. If so, there are four ways to become an owner of a shop. 1) Kill the husband, wife, and kids if any. Their house will become available for purchase. Buy it. Rent it out and collect rent. 2) Kill a clerk in a shop. The shop will become available for pruchase. Buy the Shop. Rent the Shop and collect rent. 3) Kill a tavern clerk and all waiter\waitress'. Sometimes it also includes killing anyone inside the tavern as well. The tavern will become available for purchase. Buy it. Rent it out and collect rent. 4) Kill a hotel clerk (bowerstone south's equivilant to a tavern) and all waiter\waitress'. Sometimes it also includes killing anyone inside the tavern as well. The tavern will become available for purchase. Buy it. Rent it out and collect rent. Those are the only ways to own property. If a clerk lives in a shop, you will have to kill the whole family there before it will become available for sale. You do not get any bonus' or anything for owning shops other than the fact that you own them and can rent them out. Certain shops, taverns and houses have spots where you can place your trophies. This will allow you to collect more rent because of these trophies. You can also expliot this to make money. Buy a house, put trophies in it, sell it for profit. Go in and take your trophies back. Rinse and Repeat. The trader exploit works better for this though. Types Of Saves There are 3 types of saves in Fable 1) Auto Save 2) Hero Save 3) World Save Auto Saves occur when you enter into a quest. This saves the status, events, and everything up to that point. Hero Saves occur when you save during a quest. During a Quest, you can hero svae from the options menu. This saves the statistics you've accumulated, but not your place in the quest. On your next quest, you can take advantage of gold or other items you sved on previous quests. World Saves are saves anytime outside of quests. They become available after the guild training. Dialog & Display Problems There are no patches for the PC version. Xbox has a couple. You'll have to check the Microsoft Xbox site for patches. This is a common problem usually fixed by 1) updating video card drivers from manufacturer's website. 2) changing resoloution of the game. you can do this from the options screen listed when you start the game before you load a profile or start a new game. 3) change the refresh rate. can be done at the same options screen. 4) changing both resolution and refresh rate. It opens for a few seconds at 10:00 P.M.. There are two ways to tell when it is 10:00 P.M. 1 - Watch the in game clock at the top of the screen where your map is located. The two spots where day meets night, that is 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.. So 1\4 into the night section will be 9:00 P.M.. Wait until the arrow is slightly over 1\4 into the dark and it will be around 10:00 P.M.. Go to the Cellar door and it should be unlocked. 2 - Stand in front of the Cellar door. Use your teleport feature to go back to the Guild of Heroes. This will set up a recall point right in front of the cellar. Leave the guild and run to Look Out Point, which is between the Guild of Heroes and Bowerstone South. Go up to the statue and continue clicking it. You will get various messages. When you get the message that it is pointing towards Bowerstone South use your teleport feature and go to the Bowerstone South Recall Point that you set up. You will be right in front of Cellar. It should be unlocked. Once in there, you will find that there is only a Leather Chest Piece inside and nothing more. Sword In The Stone Requirements : - Attempt to pull first time. Always a faailure. Check your Hero Experience section for Physique, health and toughness attributes and their levels. The game remembers them. - Increase your Physique by 5, Health by 2, and Toughness by 3 from what your original stats when you first attempted to pull the sword. If you can not increase them by those numbers before maxing them out, just max them and you can get it. Thats the case for most people. As far as it being good, its ok. . Chances are when you get it you already have a better item or will by the time you get it. However it does have 198 damage, its a light weapon and has sharpening and piercing augmentations. There are several light weapons with better damage than that and you'll have a couple better than it already.
