What is TRANSPIRE ?
Transpire was formed in 1976 by a small group of bus enthusiasts to provide a society for those into public transport in and around the Chesterfield area.

The society now has over 300 members, young and old, male and female, including those of who live many miles away from Chesterfield.

Bus operators serving the Chesterfield and areas around it include international companies such as Stagecoach and First, other large companies such as the Welglade group and local operators such as TM travel and Hulleys of Baslow.
Also include the many coach and minibus operators in the area and the Coaches of National Express and Megabus.
As you can probably see from what you have just read there is plenty in Chesterfield for the bus enthusiast.

What we do
Transpire organises many activites and services which are available to members and their families.
Regular meetings are held in Chesterfield normally held on the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of September, November, January, March, May and July.
These usually include talks or films of guest speakers, visits to local Transport Museums and local operators depots, or an evening tour on a vehicle of interest.

Our News sheet is produced every two months, providing interesting and accurate information on both bus and coach operators in Chesterfield and surrounding areas from past and to the present.
Uptodate vehicles details, route updates and depot information are all included in the news sheet so that the enthusiast is kept up-to-date of the forever changing bus scene of Chesterfield. Articles prepared by members are published whenever possible along with arrangements for forthcoming events organised by Transpire and its members and of meetings.
Accurate fleet lists are kept for many of the operators in Chesterfield and the surrounding area, which are distributed free as part of the society news sheet.
