12" Scrappy Squares

This block is so simple! After the projects of the winter are complete, what do you do with the leftover scraps? Here's a neat solution for all those bits' n pieces...

12" Scrappy Squares

It takes 4 small blocks to assemble this one 12" finished block.

Sew 2" x 3�" strips of assorted print, striped or plaid fabrics on each side of a 3�" square of solid pastel or white fabric.
Then sew 2" x 6�" strips onto the top and bottom to make one small square.
Sew four squares together to make the 12" block (12�" with seams).

Any pattern fabrics are acceptable, the scrappier the better. Don't forget to sign your name and put the date on one of the solid squares, as shown in the example.
