Love Poem #1
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Forgive the soul that never did know love.
The dreamer that stares at stars above.
A wretch like me
Shall never see
A bonding such as this.
A poor sad truth,
Bit to the tooth,
Yea, nothing is amiss.

A distant watcher gazes 'pon
The far-off distant dream.
An unlikely possibility,
An odd connection it may seem.
Dreamers do as dreamers must,
REmain alone 'till turned to dust.
Heart wrenching day by day,
Just thus.

The mere sight of her brings tears of joy,
A word, and the pale heart soars.
The passing scent, intoxicating,
A baleful gaze, intoxicating,
Silent rejection, intoxicating all the more.

I am the village idiot
Not for loving or for saying so
In whining poetry,
But for standing idly by
While lady loves to find and fly
Away from the wretch.
