NBHA TX 28--------MAY 2009 NEWSLETTER

***UPDATE!!!!  TIME CHANGE FOR THE FUNDRAISER ON SAT, MAY 9
EXHIBS START AT 4:00PM; OPEN 4D AT 6:00PM.  BARRELS ONLY.*******

There have been a couple of questions raised that need to be addressed:
1.Sponsor Money---100% of sponsor money goes to awards.  You have the option of designating which class receives itotherwise it will be divided among all classes.

**The minimum $50 sponsor requirement is due by June 30 in order to qualify for district awards. This only applies to your first sponsor--additional sponsors can be turned in throughout the rest of the year as they are received. All checks should be made to: NBHA TX 28.

2.Senior class payoutthe splits were written incorrectly in the by-laws that were posted at the beginning of the yearIm very sorry for any confusion this may have caused.  The class is paid on second splits, not full seconds.  This was done in the past due to the small size of the class, and the practice has been continued at all of our shows this year.  It was an oversight on my part that the error had not been corrected in the by-laws.  The district results & standings are correct to the best of my knowledge and the change has been made in the by-laws.  Senior World points are still kept in regular 4D format on riders 50+.

3. Gonzales Old ArenaI did my best to change the location for the fundraiser on May 9.  There was an opportunity to move it to the JB Wells, but the City decided to leave it open that weekend for repairs.  On the bright side for those that dont like running at the old pen, we only have one more point show there this yearleaving the remaining 8 shows either at Hallettsville or the JB Wells.

Dont forget to send in your entries for the State Show in Katy June 4-7.  Deadline to avoid late fees is May 25.  Information and entry forms are available on their website: www.texasstatenbha.com  Due to possible conflicts with graduations, etc, the show format has been adjusted to allow contestants the option of running during part or all of the show and only  paying  processing, stalls, etc for the time you are there.

NBHA NEWS!!  I just learned that starting in 2010, NBHA will use the 5D format for major shows.  Districts will still have the option of using 3D and 4D formats.

Thanks for your inputwatch the website for news, results, and information.  See you at the next show!
