National Black Arts Festival:What We're Doing

~ LITERATURE ~

This is a partial schedule of events, accurate as of July 5, 1998.
Artists appearing, locations, times and ticket prices are subject to change.

If you're interested in meeting your favorite authors and getting the pic of the latest black titles, then the NBAF bookstores are the place to visit. There are two official National Black Arts Festival bookstores: African Spectrum Bookstore is located in Underground Atlanta directly opposite the information & visitors bureau on the upper level and Medu Books is located in Greenbriar Mall (near the airport) next to GNC Healthfoods.

The stores will host signings and poetry readings throughout the ten days of the festival. Shay Youngblood, Nathan McCall, Diane McKinney-Whetstone and The Last Poets are just a few attendees to look for. All books written by authors participating in the literature component of the festival will be available in addition to thousands of titles by black authors and much, much more! Visit the stores or call African Spectrum at 404-658-1711 and Medu Bookstore at 404-346-3263 for more information. Find scheduled signings and appearances in the Daily Schedule Listings.

Your ever so humble webguy apologizes most sincerely and profusely for the fact that this page was so wrong for so long.
He wishes only that someone had called it to his attention earlier.
Truth? He is very fond of literature in general, black literature in particular,
and would have never done such a thing as to post Film listings on the Literature page intentionally.
He is simply very overworked, underpaid, and under loved.
(Well, not the last, but the sentence seemed to call for a third adjective, and there it was.)
(No, it screamed for a third!Tell you what, you try it with only the first two... I'll wait.
There- see what I mean? It NEEDS that third adjective somehow!)
