Well, I was born in Davengere, a sleepy town in Karnataka in 1980. Then my family moved to Bhadrak, in Orissa and stayed there for some time. Fortunately or unfortunately, I dont remember much from this phase of my life.

Around, 1984, we moved again to Hyderabad, in Andhra Pradesh, where I have stayed most of my life. The school back home (St. Mary High School) was fun.

So was the Intermediate education at Little Flower Junior College. (For the uninitiated, in Andhra Pradesh, Intermediate education is equivalent to 11th and 12th grade). This is the time when students preparing for IIT-JEE usually slog their balls off. I was no exception to this. I joined Special Coaching Centre, Dilsukhnagar in my Intermediate first year and then at Mega Study Circle (popularly known as Krishnamurthy classes).  Looking back at those days, I am truly amazed at the fact that I could get up at 3:00 am. (Keeping in mind the fact that now I have difficulty getting up at 8:00 am.)

The above mentioned slog bore its fruit in the form of me getting admission to the prestigious IIT-Madras in the Electrical Engineering program. Meeting the seniors was an eye-opening experience. It is there I realised that the IIT-ians were not what they are made out to be. (Thank heavens for that!) The stay in IIT was arguably the best part of my life. ( I hope it doesnt stay that way ;-) )  Hostel life was new to me. The independence it provided me with was unimaginable. It was something I hadn't expected.  I was fortunate enough to have been allotted Ganga Hostel. (the best of them all!). Made a lot of nice friends when I was around in IITM. Notable among them were Charbee (aka Satish), Buss (aka Nagendra), Logic (Naga Prashanth), Meher (ditto), Bachu (Akshay) in the first couple of years.  We all later shifted to the fourth wing (the best wing!). Goes without saying that most of us stayed in the better half. Then there was a chap Anish, (I considered him a  painful chap then) who also landed up in the better half of the fourth wing. Little did I realise that at the end of our stay in IITM, we would part as great chums. I am still in touch with most of the guys now.

After those really enjoyable four years, I landed up at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign to pursue my Masters. And this is the state I am currently in. Well, do come back after some time and check out whether or not I have made any progress beyond this stage. So long then.

Oh boy. I visited this page after what seems like an eternity. Things have happened at a pretty fast pace. I am done with my masters degree now. I have started work on my PhD and am enjoying it at the moment. Currently I am doing an internship at the famed Bell Labs and am learning a lot in a short period. Since I stay very close to NY, most of the weekends are spent in NY. This is like an opportunity to re-live the IITM days with Charbee, Bachu, Raghavan and others. It is a very nice experience on the whole.
