NEW AGE OF WRESTLING

NAW's Evolution
Saturday, April 12th, 2003

It was a great night for wrestling as about 200 fans jam packed the SouthWest YMCA's Basketball Pavillion for New Age of Wrestler's first show ever. The show started off with Coral Park Senior High School's JROTC flag presentaion and the National Anthem being played. Then, the action began:

The first entrance theme came on through the sound system and it was that of Commissioner BloodStone. He came out and thanked the fans for coming out and supporting the YMCA and the Children's Home Society. He then went on to claim that he was really going to keep the money and called the audience memebers all idiots for paying to watch the show. The crowd defenitely wasn't liking this and began to boo BloodStone big time. The Commish decided he's introduce the two men who would help him gain total control in NAW, Kolt and J-Biggs. Out came the two men and they instantly began mocking the great fans of NAW. On his way to the ring, Kolt got into a scuffle with an audience memeber and hit him in the head with a chair!

After some trash talk by Kolt, BloodStone grabbed the microphone and said that Kolt had the night off and that there was no reason for him to even be at the show tonight. This made Kolt extremely happy. But, just as things were looking up for Kolt, "Your Favorite Wrestler" Danny Denis came in to a huge reaction from the fans. After going all around the ring and slapping what seemed to be everyone's hand, he grabbed the mic and introduced himself and his trophy, "Everyone's Favorite Trophy" Joe Jacobs, to the audience. Then, Danny proceeded to say that Kolt was scared of him and didn't want to wrestle. This made Kolt extremely angry so he took off his shirt to reveal his wrestling attire. BloodStone and J-Biggs were told to leave the ring as a referee ran in to make the match official.

World Heavyweight Title Contendership Match:
"Your Favorite Wrestler" Danny Denis vs. "Your Hero" Kolt

This fast paced, action packed opener was great to get the fans going at the beginning of the show. During the match we saw Danny Denis embarass Kolt by pulling off a hip toss twice in a row after warning Kolt about them. We saw Kolt give Danny one of the hardest kicks in the head we've ever seen. And, we saw both men pull off great moves to just wear each other out. Kolt pulled off some great power moves like the Blue Thunder Driver and the Full Nelson Slam Danny got in a couple of his famous kicks - his version of the "Shattered Dreams" and his "Tree of Woa" Kick to the face. But, in the end, it was Kolt who picked up the victory of Danny with the Kryptonite Krunch for the win.

Jynkos vs. Kris Angel

A great match to follow a great match. Kris was an instant fan favorite as he came to ring to face Jynkos. This match started off with an incredible pace. Jynkos reversed a Famous-er into a Powerbomb which was revered into a beautiful Huricanrana. The match was like a giant see-saw with both men getting equal control in this great bout. We saw Kris lay out Jynkos with a vicious Drop Kick and we saw Jynkos lay out Angel with a text book spear. Kris went as far as to attempt a Phoenix Splash from the top rope. Jynkos moved out of the way right before being pummled by an absolutely amazing high flying leap. In the end, Kris Angel came out on top when he hit a huge Frog Splash on Jynkos for the win.

After the Jynkos/Kris match, Sledge came out and started to beat on the Kris after throwing a frustrated Jynkos outside of the ring. His long time friend, J. Xaviar came out to the ring to try to calm to situation. But, it was Commissioner BloodStone who calmed the situation. Sledge complained that he wasn't on the card. So, BloodStone said he'd give him a match. Sledge went crazy and Xaviar seemed happy for him to. Then, BloodStone announced that Sledge's opponent would be J. Xaviar! Both men weren't very happy with the decision but they decided to wrestle each other anyway.

Lightweight Title Match:
Triple Threat Match:

Showstopper vs. Red Fury vs. Brandon Starr

Only one word can explain this show stealing match: WOW! These three men have shown the 200 plus fans exactly why it was worth it to pay $7 a ticket! Everything from huge leaps to the outside of the ring to powermoves being executed on pure concrete. These three lightweights tore the crowd to peices. It was non-stop action. Brandon Starr was all over the place leaping left and right. The Showstopper was pulling off power moves every other second. And, Red Fury was stuck in the middle trying to take out his other two opponents. The total chaos ended when J-Biggs entered the ring and gave Brandon Starr a huge 450 Powerbomb Facebuster while Showstopper was down. This allowed Red Fury to cover Brandon for the win and to become the first Lightweight Champion.

After the Lightweight Match, A short intermission followed. The wrestlers interacted with some friends and said hi to some family members. The fans were hyped as the Xavier/Sledge match started off right after the intermission.

Sledge vs. J.Xavier

Both men are close friends inside and outside the ring. Xavier extended to shake Sledges hand mocking him telling him he stood no chance agianst a more experianced wrestler like himself. Sledge quickly struck back with a fast clothesline, but Xavier saw it comming and quickly turned it into a crucifix pin. Both mean locked up Xavier ending up on top. Sledge got right back up and began to pound on Xavier relentlessly hoping to over power him since out wrestling him was out of the quesiton. Soon there-after Sledge nailed a spike DDT which left the crowd speechless. It looked as if Sledge now had the upper hand but Xavier rebounded quickly. Sledge got up noticably frustreted and seemed to admit defeat. Both mean shook hands and as Xavier was walking out Sledge surprised him from behind then followed it with a three moves combo a german suplex, a move he calls the "PRAKATA!", and a big splash. Sledge got the win needless to say.

After the match a shocked Xavier struggled to his feet. A quick pause and then Xavier admitted Sledge was the better man that night. Both men embraced and Xavier now has taken Sledge under his wing again to mold him into a title winning athlete.

World Heavyweight Title Contendership Match:
"Fabulous" Richard Hard vs. "Big Tyme" Rey Daniels

This great match for a shot at the Heavyweight Title on the third NAW show was absolutely great. It had everything from high flyer action, to power moves, to comedy. Richard Hard came out with his usuall cocky attitude, while Rey Daniels came out waiting to take out Richard and please the fans. Throughout the whole match, Richard was mocking Rey and mocking the audience. His constant joking quickly made Rey angry. Rey took it upon himself to take Richard out. And so he did, when at the end, he took out Richard and moved on to face Kolt at NAW's third show for the New Age of Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship!

Main Event Grudge Match:
Steven Cage vs. J-Biggs

The Main Event of the evening was just that, a Main Event! Steven came out waving the American Flag which got a great reaction from all the fans that were packing the Basketball Pavillion at the YMCA. J-Biggs came out to one of the worst ovations I have ever heard. He was booed beyond belief. Nonetheless, the match was a great technical masterpeice. Everything from normal top wrist locks to the ocassional eye gouging. In the middle of the match, BloodStone tried to interfere but was pummled for his troubles by Steven Cage. Cage didn't have the same luck when Kolt came in. Kolt managed to give Steven the Ki-Krusher which laid Cage out for a long time. Everyone thought it was over, but Steven kicked out of the pin attempt by J-Biggs. Steven eventually fought back and even body slammed the huge 250+ pounder. Cage won the grueling match but defenitely did not win the war. Seconds after the match, Kolt and BloodStone came in and handed Steven his ass. But, out came Danny Denis to make the save. Danny came out, chair in hand, to an absolutely huge ovation from the crowd. "Your Favorite Wrestler" stormed into the ring and threatened to hit Kolt and J-Biggs. Danny then said that they weren't good enough for the chair, so he put it down. And, just when we thought Danny was going to save the day, he ended up hitting Steven Cage and turning his back on the fans once again. Steven ended up on the receiving end of a Danny Driver 2002 and was mocked for a while until Rey Daniels and Brandon Starr came out to save the day. The newly appointed Goodfellas left the ring in fear. "One more for the 'good guys' baby," said Danny Denis as he left. Right after the Goodfellas had their little group hug, Brandon Starr came flying from the inside of the ring onto all four of the hated stars to finally put them out of their misery. The Goodfellas walked out and the real good guys ended up on top, once again.
