MAL'S  RECUMBENT  BIKES...
THE "LOWRIDER'...   IS THIS THING LEGAL?

When I designed this recumbent I wanted something that was very low to the            ground, was inherantly stable, and reasonably pleasant to look at and ride.  This        required the development of a "side mounted gimbal steering" setup which               eliminated the necessary forks for the front steering.  The second rear wheel was      purely an asthetic addition, and does nothing but follow the rest of the bike.  Every   homebuilt recumbent should have a little "ART" in it.  Current plans include            adding a cargo carrier which will be supported by both rear wheels.
THE "LONGBIKE"...
This was my first attempt at building my own recumbent.  As you can see,       the front steering setup has two 20" wheels in tandem.  The steering is           proportional so that the second wheel turns a little tighter radius than the       front wheel so there is no scraping in the turns.  The front wheel carries no    load and is free to articulate up and down enabling the bike to negotiate          sidewalk entrances and other bumps.  Again, the dual rear wheel setup was     done primarily for the sake of "ART".
"EASY RIDER"...  This is my lastest project.  It is based on the       "Bike-E" production bike, but has a 20 inch "Mongoose" suspension,       and  is very comfortable to ride.
