Four Times in A Row!

An air of consistency filled the Navvies FC camp today as it was confirmed that Oliver Sunter has missed the last four Navvies matches. The Navvies season has been build around varying performances from it's star players and the resyults have varied accordingly. Oli is now the only Navvy to do anything four times in a row, narrowly beating the three matches in a row that the Navvies won between 19th December and 16th January. However trouble is brewing after it was revealed that Sunter merely phoned in his team strategy. A Club EGM is being called tonight to discuss matters.
Sunter Absent Again!

Manager Oliver Sunter was once again absent as the Navvies defeated Dynamo Chicken Kiev. Sunter's absence - his third in succession - caused problems for the team as substitutions were unplanned and the team under prepared. Speculation is rife over Sunter's future, with chairman Don Banaczek understood to be monitoring events closely.

Laybourn Breaks Record In One Man Demolition

Pete Laybourn smashed the Navvies club record with his six goal destruction of Dynamo Chicken Kiev in today's league meeting. The record previously stood at four scored by both Francesco Mandala and Tony Podmore. Laybourn celebrated his double hat trick with a controversial celebration, machine gunning the Kiev team .

Laybourn's double hat trick came in the midst of controversy regarding his apperance record.
Mandala Ban Latest

Navvies FC today recieved confirmation of Francesco 'Ciccio' Mandala's suspension from the FA. The punishment contains a �33 fine and a mammoth 7 week ban for violent conduct. The ban commences on 7th March, the day after a crucial fixture against Real Ale Madrid. This means Mandala will only miss one game of this season, although he could well be out well into the new season, but this will not be known until the FA has further evaluated the situation, which could include an extension to the fine as well.
Laybourn Absence Shocker

It was reported today that Navvies FC's star midfielder will be absent from the upcoming cup clash against PCFC (27/2/05). Although the match is for little other than pride Navvies will be rocked by this no show. Laybourn has a record of missing games after he failed to attend the opening game of the campaign against Reapers with a prior engagement in Las Vegas. Laybourn also had a lengthy spell when he refused to play for the club in anger at managerial decisions. Club secretary Tom Knapp was informed of the news just after noon and is currently pondering possible disciplinary action following this breach of the strict "No gurting" rules, clemancy may be given as Laybourn did inform the management three weeks in advance.
