The  artesania from the Turtle Island sewing shop is all hand-embroidered and crocheted on fine fabrics such as hemp silk and 100% linen.
Many motifs reflect our environment and special projects, like the native bird species and flowers on hand crocheted napkin sets, the traditional Sonoran Desert homestead and the pitaya (organ pipe) cactus fruit embroidery on our uniquely designed sombreros.

We have infant shirts sewn and crocheted completely by hand, out of hemp-silk or linen.  The Mayo women of Teachibe, Sonora, tint the fabric with natural plant dyes.
We get the finest pre-consumer wool cut-ends from Half-Moon Capeworks in Delta, Colorado and make hand-sewn patchwork quilts, with hemp-silk and other naturally-dyed backing.
We also make tortilla warmers and woolen caps out of this material, and parafoil kites out of recycled ripstop sailmaker's cloth. We love being involved with these cottage industries, recycling their waste product

Sirena (mermaid) embroidered, silk-lined bolsitas with hemp-silk embroidery patch and wool/felt body.  Zippered for closure.
