I sort of own a managerie. There're dogs, birds, fish, and the occasional spider or lizard. That's Tiger on the left, my beagle. He's from SPCA, and he's an extremely smart dog. There was this dog intelligence test from the Readers' Digest some time ago, and he scored a "Genius Dog" on the ratings. He likes chasing flies, taking walks, chewing up plants in the backyard (including any plastic flowers), and sometimes trying out the fish food.

Well...that was the first dog I had...That's his Chinese name in the picture. I think we gave him that name coz the dog my grandfather had also had that name. My dad picked him up from the parking lot outside his office when I was 7...that was my Christmas present. =) He was only a few months old then...from there on he stayed my faithful dog for the next 8? 9? years...then he ran away one night (how ironic). I think the gate wasn't closed properly. We searched around for him the next few days, but we never saw him again. I still remember sitting on my doorstep in the evenings, hoping that he'd find his way back home. But he never appeared again.

This is Mr. Tall-Dark-&-Handsome all rolled into one. People lurrvve to stare at him when I bring him out coz he's just too charming. He's a Siberian Husky -- his first owner bought him from Australia when he was a few months old, but later he got too big to keep in a flat, so we got him. The previous owner called him Husky...well think of it this way -- a husky called Husky? But he only responds to that name...so...so there. =)

Those are my peach-faced lovebirds (or Cherryheads). We had an aviary made specially for them so that they had enough living space. Most of them came from the original pair we bought, coz they kept on producing eggs and more eggs. I've watched many of them grow from pink and naked hatchlings, and most of them know me well enough to eat sunflower seeds from my hand. My dad's bought some new lovebird species too, so we also have Lutinos (yellow lovebirds) and this pair of larger parrots whose names I haven't been able to find.

We also have a fishpond in the backyard -- coz my dad is completely nuts about his fish, and he even goes into the water to repair the pump, etc.

We've had a trellis built over the fishpond and bougainvillea now climbs all over it. A lot of the sunlight is blocked out, and the fish can swim around during the day without having to worry about the sun. It also makes the pond a lot cooler.

This is Shelly. She's a dwarf hamster, Campbell Pearl White. There's a faint grey streak down her back, and a little bit of grey at the back of her head too. She loves sunflower seeds, a good run on the wheel, and chewing on just about everything in sight.

Well, actually now I've got eleven dwarf hamsters at home.. heh..we had 5 initially, but 2 became mothers. Shelly had some babies too... And at some point of time, we had 19 hamsters running around the place. This is one of the photographs of the 2nd generation while they were babies.

More hamster pictures...

And...the occasional lizard taking up residence in my room... =)

Ok...this wasn't meant to make anybody feel eeky...
