Safe Shipping with Northwest Airlines

Puppies can be shipped safely almost anywhere in U.S. via Northwest Airlines.

Your puppy, after leaving our airport in Appleton, WI will arrive either in  Detroit, MI or Minneapolis/St.Paul, MN depending on his/her flight itinerary.   When a puppy arrives to one of these 'connecting' airports, he/she is kept in a Priority Pet Room and is ALWAYS given proper care and needed attention by qualified 'Northwest Employees".  Their main concern and top priority as pet specialists, is to assure that your puppy is cared for only the very best!!

Here is a brief look at your puppies' trip home to you via Northwest Airlines from the time he leaves our hands, and arrives into your welcome arms.

We arrive at the Appleton, WI Airport at least ONE HOUR prior to your puppy's' departing flight.  Your puppy, as always..rides on our lap during his trip.  When arriving, we are allowed to park right in front of terminal, so there is no extended walking in cold or hot temperatures.  Next, we allow puppy a little jaunt in the grass and give him/her a chance to have one last potty break before embarking on his little journey.
We then get your puppy 'checked in' at the Northwest Counter, where all of the necessary paperwork, including the Airway Bill, Veterinarian Health Certificate, etc...are properly filled out and checked over by a Northwest Customer Service Agent.  During this time, the puppy is always in our arms and when all of this is complete we give him/her their farewell kisses and hugs and place him in his Airline Approved Kennel.   This is the time when Northwest becomes the KEY PLAYER in assuring that your puppy arrives safely and in a timely manner, and to be honest they do an OUTSTANDING JOB!!  Most of these people, I have found to be true animal lovers at heart, and they not only on a professional level but a personal one too, want only the best for your BABY!!
Next, your puppy is taken into their office (behind the ticket counter) and kept there comfortably, until it is time to leave...which by this time is usually only about a 45 minute wait.
When its time to board and after all the passengers have boarded, they call for your puppy. He/She is brought on and gently placed in a temperature controlled compartment NEXT to the luggage (BUT NOT with the luggage) and he will remain here safe and sound until the plane lands in either Detroit or Minneapolis.   Our Puppies are shipped w/ a puppy heating pad in winter months. For hot summers we ship later in afternoon or evening for cooler temperatures.

When plane lands your puppy is the first one off plane!  Northwest employees are called to come and get him/her asap, and as a rule they are picked up, even before passengers have exited the airplane.  They are transported then, in a heated or a/c vehicle, and brought to Northwests Priority Pet Room, again all of these are temperature controlled.

Once in "Priority Pet" room,  your puppy is cleaned and cared for, if needed (Accidents happen..LOL), they do have a grooming type area available for these rare occasions.  Fresh water is offered and replenished and your puppy is lovingly held/handled during this short stayover.  Northwests Policy also mandates that IF there are any visible signs of illness, the puppy will be immediately seen by a veterinarian. And though this has never ever actually been needed, it is a great comfort to know that Northwest takes such great responsibility in making sure OUR puppy is well cared for. When its time to get on next plane, the same steps and care are given, as when your little baby first left our hands.

Your puppys' flight can be paid for upon his arrival to YOU at your home airport, this is what Northwest considers a COD Charge (Cash on delivery) for approx.$165.00 to MOST major United States Airports. Again, this fee can/will be paid by you, directly to Northwest Airlines at the time you arrive to pick up your puppy.  Keep in mind, that pick up times will vary from airport to airport, anywhere from 30-90 minutes as a rule.  Much of this variation is determined by the overall size of your home airport.  A smaller airport is able to bring your puppy to you, much quicker than a LARGER or Int'l type airport.  Be patient, and be assured that Northwest will do everything safely possible to get your puppy to you asap.  If you have any questions during the flight, you can call Northwest Airlines Customer Service DIRECT,  making sure that you have the AIRWAY BILL NUMBER (which will be given to you, by me..when the flight arrangements have been made/confirmed) as this NUMBER is the KEY TRACKING NUMBER FOR YOUR PUPPY!!  You will need the AIRWAY BILL NUMBER and PROPER IDENTIFICATION before the puppy will be released to you!!
I DO NOT CHARGE ANY ADDITIONAL MONEY TO YOU...You will typically ONLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PUPPYS' FLIGHT FEE VIA NORTHWEST AIRLINES.

I will NOT CHARGE you gas money (It is approximately 45 miles to our home airport), food expenses, or any other 'charges'.  In addition, I WILL PROVIDE FREE OF CHARGE a new Airline Approved Carrier for your puppy ($25), the Veterinarians Health Certificate ($50), as a COURTESY TO YOU!!

Also, realize that we will always try to find the very BEST FLIGHT for your puppy..the flight w/ the quickest transfer time and the best time of day for the PUPPY TO FLY (In the summer months often it is best to get either a VERY EARLY MORNING FLIGHT, or one that will DEPART LATER IN THE DAY..to avoid 'higher' temperatures).  Also, your puppy will never fly in temperatures below 20 degrees or above 85 degrees...

And lastly, Shipping Insurance is Available via Northwest, The cost is $3.50 per each $100 of 'value'.  If you would like the additional insurance, we MUST KNOW THIS prior to your puppys' flight.  I can honestly say, that most do not request it and never ever have we had a puppy injured or lost during a flight...BUT it is insurance and its an option.
If you have any questions, concerns or other..feel free to contact me or you can call Northwest Airlines yourself to speak w/ a Customer Service Representative.
