Mirror
I look into those eyes,
twin pools of foggy seawater,
deeper and deeper I fall,
straight into their untold depths,
down to the core,
a beautiful soul writhing in the fire of pain,
deeper down still somehow,
a softly beating heart torn by lightning,
I look into those eyes,
seeing the torment lying deep inside,
torment manifested in silent tears,
but does anyone see the tears spring from a deep source,
they are tears of unhappiness say some,
tears of self pity say others,
I look into those eyes,
I alone can see it's more than unhappiness or self pity,
I can see tears of mourning,
a deep loss,
I can see tears of heart break,
a deeper loss,
I can see a world slipping away from a loosening grip,
I see a reality shifting,colliding,crashing,
a million shattered hopes,
a million glittering tears,
a life in pieces,scattered on the wind,
I look into those eyes,
as I look...into a mirror.
