TO THE LION'S DEN
Just be glad I warned some of you in the newsletter about this one.  The caption found under this gruesome pic confirmed my  desire to NEVER get involved with drugs...not even as a pharmacist!        To this day I will never understand why people turn to such shit.  I mean what do you get out of it?  Escape from reality?  PLAY A FUCKING VIDEO GAME, WATCH A FUCKING MOVIE OR READ A BOOK FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!  At least those forms of escape won't  kill off your brain cells.  Got a problem with stuff going on in your life?  Sit down and find someone to talk to.  Jose on the corner selling clear bags for $100 isn't the one to talk to.  If anyone reading this has a problem, there ARE people out there who can help and who WANT to help.  But help isn't going to find you if you don't want to help yourself first.
The day I came across this pic, I went into Chathouse and showed it to a few people.  Got back some pretty harsh responses to drug use...some saying that the pic scared them away from the mere thought of experimenting.  Don't know if they were telling the truth or not, but if so, then a pic like this is what we need to see to scare us away.
I'm sure all of you have heard the debate on the media's influence on the children of America.  If you read the last rant on wrestling (click
here to read it) then you know my stance on the whole situation.
Parents seem to think that placing their child in front of a plastic and glass box is the way to raise a child these days.  And of course they're always gasping in shock when they hear that little Johnny walked into school this morning loaded to the teeth and took out the football team, or they stumble across little Suzie's stash.  They wonder where they went wrong, then they realize they can't take the blame.  Heaven forbid they get viewed as a bad parent.  So they look around and find something to blame.  Be it a Ozzy album, a Marilyn Manson video, a role playing game, a Playstation shooter, whatever.  They find something OTHER than themselves to blame.  Which is why it's so easy to blame TV.
The government doesn't help much either.  They glorify drugs by not taking the war on them to the next level.  They know where the sources are, but don't do anything without "probable cause".  They let the sellers go without so much as a slap on the wrist and sit back wondering how drugs keep getting into our children's hands.
I guess the media can be to blame to an extent, but then again why blame movies and music solely when the nightly news is just as bad if not worse?  Yet again, here are the parent's not doing their jobs.  Little Johnny and Suzie sure could have used a mom or dad to sit there and tell them what's bad and what's good.  Mister Roger's and Barney sure as fuck ain't doing the job.  Pokemon and the Cartoon Network sure as fuck ain't.  Mom and Dad need to stop being afraid of their kids and sit down and yell if necessary.
We all have our "anti-drug" like those commercials talk about.  Mine is art, writing, and other stuff (some of which can be found on this site).  History has shown that some users were very talented, but succumbed to their addictions and died.  If shit gets to be to much for you, then sit down and find something to do.  Draw if you can't.  Write if you can't.  Play a video game if you hate it.  TRY something you've never done before...
Wait...let me rephrase that...TRY something SAFE that you haven't done before.  And no, using clean needles doesn't count.  Who knows, a user or someone who had the potential to become one might wind up becoming a best-selling author or high-priced artist.  Would say they'd become the President of the United States, but so far the last two aren't all that clean and sober.
