Staff Sergeant John H. Callahan
John was only 34 years old when he left on this mission.
He had been in the military for 16 1/2 years and planned
to complete 22 years of service. John was highly trained
in communications, using a tele-type machine, and had
also worked at the Pentagon.
John had met Hedwig while in Germany.
They married and had a son named William.
William was only 11 1/2 years old when his father
left on this mission.
Hedwig never remarried.
