The Lakers go hard on Timberwolves--a loss to the Timberwolves 76-102
Even worse than Friday's game against the Sonics! But once again, Kobe and Shaq deserved their hard-earned rest after dominating the Timberwolves in such a pitiful but easy lead.
O'Neal easily gained his 23 pts, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the game. Bryant also helped in this dismantling duel by adding an extra 18 and also 5 assists during the game.
Although the game was nearly a deadlock duringin the third period, with 9:01 remaining during that period, the Lakers had been trailing 53-51. Shaq and Kobe hadn't decided matters during the fourth so they didn;t get to play. However, O'Neal put in a five-foot hook shot and Bryant jammed in a couple of free throws to cause the Lakers to lead throughout the rest of the game.
Later Lindsay Hunter started to revolt and jammed in a couple of 3-pointers, causing the Lakers to lead 77-62. He ended up scoring the 11 of the 13 pts. he made in that quarter.
Wally Sczerzbiak had 19 pts. for Minnesota of the 76 pts. they scored and 8 rebounds. Kevin Garnett added 11 pts. in the game too, and is shooting 37% over the last five games.
