Zen Garden

I walk in stillness...

Earth's moist smell

Tiny plants

yet unborn

Live in nature's symmetry.

I move among them in reverence

and seed my spirit

in silent rows....

Winter

Seeds of winter

open slowly

Pulsating to the rhythm

of a dying star...

Gregorian chants

echo

Inside my soul...

Gloria

Receive the birth of winter

Rising on wings

of the frozen pine.

Excerpts from Obsidian Suns

* * *

Slip into the space

Between the wind

Where silence speaks

In gentle tongues

And dark moons

Caress the night

With laughter...

* * *

Wild birds laughing

In flight

Dancing.

They call across the heather

Spreading purple wings

And fly towards the sun

Turning into rubies and garnets....

~ Birds ~

Flight

Hummingbirds trace patterns of flight.

Wings move way beyond sight

To emptiness where forms seem to dance

And winds blow through feathers of light.

*********

Sleepy bird

Spreads night wings...

Tucks beak into back...

Asleep....

Quietly dreaming...

Tracing

Leaves in sand.....
