blue-black song of wolfmoon

queen of the dark fields
dew of night
in elegant grace terpsichore prowls,

calling
the twilight
through cavernous deepnight

to ocean of dawn

with a low chilly howl...

her waxing crescent

from
grasp of night

la luna slipping;

dainty satin
slipper

dipping,

tipping
the horizon.

rainsong

slow

and rhythmic
pattertap...

skillful

little fingers rap
on green and beaded
strips of leather

taut and weathered

dripping
sound.

morning storm

fleet
from the sacred
northwoods of thor
chariots thunder
past dense gray dawn
trampling the youth
of a rain hammered day

indigo twilight
in tow.

crepes myrtle

frilly
pink lacework
hangs from the trees

floats
to the ground

flies in the breeze
like petticoats doffed
in heat of day

snowing down south
the children say.
