Hiding out
Are we just hiding out behind one another's pain?
Dare we try again?
That we love each other is sure
Yet we dance on eggshells as though love was
breakable,
and all the jagged parts
had stabbed us before
somewhere in our hearts.
We're afraid of making new promises, new starts.
Are we still hiding there behind our own private pain?
Like abandoned small kittens left out in the rain--
seeking a haven
but every place makes us afraid.
Can we leave the hurt and take one more chance?
love again?
and laugh...and dance?
