Rainbows and Butterflies
I could be corny
and tell you that I’m lost in your love
that when you look at me
I melt into a puddle
you make my heart go pitter-patter
and when you’re with me
all i see are rainbows and butterflies
but that ain’t me
I could be foul
and tell you that I really don’t like you
that it’s all just some sexual feeling
in my nether-regions crying out for attention
that you can give
and when you give it, I’ll throw you away
like Germantown trash
but that aint true
and that aint me.
I could be silly
and write notes asking
do you like me circle
yes or no
when you come around
I could blush and whisper
and giggle with my girlfriends
write my first name with your
last and picture our children
but that ain’t me
The only way I can be is
the way I have always been
straghtfoward and honest
here goes:
I love you
You are the only one that I will
ever love and maybe you make
rivers flow in the part of me
that’s been long dry, but most
of these feelings are pounding
in my heart.
I Love you!
No butterflies and rainbows
No foulness or silly
childish fantacies
just simply I love you.
