Devided Metaphors

All captured by this cover

Not quite, an entrance, a portrait

A final piece to fit the shape

It blinds the sun and draws eyes near

A beacon for lonely confused

A crystal path to be taken

Locks rooted in contrasting doors

Twin dark tunnels lighting the way

Through eyes wander in thought, find hope

An image without a rival

Both visions, a face, a future

Endless, fearless, timeless, honest

Time, spent with blank profound staring

A lack of attention erupts

Spewing burns, stings, stomach spears

Locks clash iron, broken crystal

Pouring rain from flooding tunnels

Yet a glimpse within still flickers

Was it someone misread,

But - the light isn't dead

All was truth and nothing fake

A path remains there to take

A full shape will keep the light lit

Without the piece, life does not fit

Wishing on a star

I gaze up at the sky each night

   and find the brightest star.

It's always waiting there for me

so close, but yet so far.

The star winks in the evening sky

   and reaches out to me.

It magically appears each night

for all the world to see.

I've wished upon this special star

my whole life through, it seems.

I've closed my eyes and made my wish

of hopes, and plans, and dreams.

And then, one day I got my wish

   for I finally met you.

You are that someone special

who's made all my dreams come true.

So now whenever we're apart

I find that same bright star.

It makes me feel so close to you

   no matter where you are.

Love

They say that love's a rainbow,

With colours soft and bright,

Enough to fill a lifetime,

Or to make it through a night.

It can colour all your visions,

And brighten all your days,

True love can make you stronger,

In a million subtle ways.

It restores your faith in others,

And changes all your dreams,

In love you find a purpose,

It's more than what it seems.

Like that baby in the cradle,

And the trust within it's eyes,

As it reaches out towards its mother,

Each time the baby cries.

Or that couple in the chapel,

With eternity in view,

How it all becomes so perfect,

In two little words: "I do".

Or that couple in their eighties,

On the porch swing over there,

Who still see love and beauty,

Despite their greying hair.

Its magic sent from Heaven,

The sweetest gift from above,

The miracles of miracles,

The priceless treasure, Love.

Spring

Ambitious rose buds

Bursting to emerge

Blossoming, blooming

Flourishing flawlessly

The essence of spring commences at morning

The sun on the horizon is dawning

Bright and brilliant

Rising resplendently

Baby birds, awaiting their first flight

Harmoniously chirruping

Mellifluously and melodiously

Dulcet and dazzling

A love so far

An empty street an empty house I hold inside my heart.

I am all-alone the room are getting smaller.

I wonder how, wonder why, I wonder where they are.

The days we had the song we sang together oh yeah.

And all my love I am holding on forever.

Reaching the love that seems so far.

So I say it in little prayer and hope my dreams will take me there.

Where the skies are blue the sea is once again my love.

Over seasons coast to coast, find the place I love the most.

Where the fields are green, the sea is once again my love.

I try to read, I know the work.

I left them with my friends.

But I can’t stop to keep myself from thinking.

I wonder how I wonder why, I wonder where they are.

The days we had the song we sang together .

To hold you in my arms.

To promise you my love.

To tell you from apart.

You’re all I’m thinking of.

Reaching for the love that seems so far.
