Modern life has a way of catching up with us. We spend our days trying to make yesterday meet tomorrow; and seldom do we get it right. In the grey mist of the cities windless morning, or the oppressive undulating heat of the rush hour afternoon traffic - we often forget to replenish our energy. We all live from natures nurturing breast, and yet in the hallucination that is suburban life, the magic somehow, somewhere, gets lost. We slip into a feeling of empty forlornment and for most purposes do not realise why.

And then by chance we notice a leaf fall from its branch high up in the golden adornment that is the autumn tree, or a squirrel run across a walkway and into the sanctuary of the foilage beyond. We are, for brief minute, transported back to where we came from. A place where the crystal blue waterfalls revive our weary bodies. A place where the deer and the linx run free across the Savana heartland of our souls.

Our energy once came from the earth they say. Our energy still comes from the earth. In the crazy spinning of our world, we still go back to that waterfall and roam the wild grasslands in search of our spirits. We go there with our imagination, walk the valleys with our words and soar on high with the eagles as our pens touch paper. In artistic manipulation of language exists the lifeblood of who we are, and more importantly, where we come from in the grander scheme of things.

This book is a collection of works by those for whom mere' fleeting thoughts of acknowledgement weren't enough. For those who's love of the land and all of natures exquisit essence may only be described in the form of expression most sacred to them... their poetry.
