Aims & Objectives of Nature Group in IIC, 11 January 2007
Dear Member,
The IIC has grown, over the years,
as a unique institution with a focus
on cultural and literary activities
and as a place for promoting fellowship,
quiet reflection and study. Most of
this takes place indoors, with the natural
setting outdoors providing the backdrop
and the inspiration.
The remarkable diversity of vegetation
and birdlife, the verdant greenery along
with the amazing colours and fragrances
of flowers in the IIC premises surely set
the senses alight and stimulate the mind
to learning and sharing. Somehow this a
aspect is not fully appreciated and
enjoyed.
Hence, with a view to generate greater
understanding of Nature and to promote
nature related activities, it is proposed
to start a Nature Group at the Centre
and all interested Members, specially
nature lovers, are invited to join in the
new endeavour.
The objectives and the proposed
activities are listed below:
Objectives
- To generate awareness and understanding
about Nature and its various elements.
- To provide relevant information and
knowledge on the subject.
- To inculcate an attitude of concern
and care for the natural environment.
- To undertake a range of activities in
furtherance of the above mentioned
objectives and generally to promote
nature conservation and environment
protection.
Activities
- Bird Watching
- Tree Spotting
- Nature Walks
- Film Shows
- AV Presentations
- Talks, Seminars, Workshops, etc.
- Nature Camps and Excursions
We intend to organise a meeting soon
to discuss and work out more details.
If you are keen to participate, please
inform Ajiti Misra (IIC Member) at
9810361635 or the undersigned, as
early as possible. The date, time and
venue of the meeting will be intimated
thereafter. Looking forward to an
early response and wishing you a
happy New Year,
Yours sincerely
(Samar Singh)
