Thought to be perfect from day one
You live your life for everyone except yourself
Thought to be everyone's little angel from day one
You feel obligated to impress everyone except yourself
Thought by all of your friends' parents to be the world's model son
You feel that they notice you more than
your own mother notices you herself
The world now has you in containment
You are under arrest
You are the world's entertainment
You have been chosen by the world to be the best
You have no choice
Everyone has faith in you
and you must not let them down
You no longer have a voice
Everyone speaks well on your behalf throughout the town
You're a local celebrity
There is not one person that you come across
that doesn't like you
You feel as though your life is a parody
Life is too good and easy to be true
Everything you attempt to do you excel
Except one thing....
All of this pressure you cannot take
but they can't tell
They have no idea how much loneliness
and sadness they bring
Your feelings and thoughts are not perfect
But the world does not see nor understand that
The friends you choose do not have to be perfect

You live your life confined in a box
You're too uptight to do some of
the things you really crave to do
You're afraid to drink,
pierce your body, or wear dreadlocks
Because the world suggests that
it is not appropriate for you to do
You are unhappy
You feel as though you are missing half of your life
Then you mature
You realize that you do have your own voice
and you don't have to let everyone run your life
You realize that people telling you
that you are wonderful
does not make you wonderful
You realize that being wonderful
is being happy with yourself,
respecting the world around you,
and living your life to the fullest
You loosen up
You don't harm anyone,
you don't begin failing your classes,
you don't break the law, you just have fun
You have been found innocent
You are no longer under arrest
You have been set free
You are now living your life
how you want to live it
Forget what they say, live your life
"You must learn to live your life, not play a role in someone else's"
