Peter Andre Factfile
Peter James Andre was born on 27th February 1973, Harrow, London, England. Peter moved to Australia at the age of 10, where he successfully launched his career as a teen pop star in 1992. By the mid-90s he had returned to England and in 1995 he saw his debut single, ''Turn It Up'', reach the UK Top 70. His follow-up , ''Mysterious Girl'', failed to make much of an impression despite the extensive broadcasts of its video (which held the number 1 request slot on cable television programme The Box long after it had disappeared from the charts). It was not until April 1996 and ''Only One'' that Peter reached the UK Top 20.
''Mysterious Girl'' then became a huge summer hit when re-released to capitalize on the previous single's success, while Peter embarked on a promotional personal appearance tour of UK venues as well as return trips to Australia and New Zealand. The two follow-up singles, ''Flava'' and ''I Feel You'', both went on to top the UK singles chart as Peter established himself as the country's newest teen idol. Desperate to be regarded as a serious R&B singer, Peter then enlisted the heavyweight help of Coolio, Montell Jordan and the Fugees for 1997's decidedly lightweight Time. ''Kiss The Girl'', taken from the soundtrack of the movie Little Mermaid, debuted at number 9 in the UK singles chart in August 1989.
