My elecrtic focuser is a gearmotor from a camcorder

These are my two handpads The one on the left came unasembled from Mel. The one on the right was made from scrap parts

Equitorial mount

Since it was made mostly from scrap materials I call it the scrappy mount

This is the Scrappy Mount. Basically it is a piece of  1" stainless prop shaft in a pipe with tapered roller berrings to hold it. One end of the shaft has a machined plate to hold the Declination assembly. the other end (the right assention drive) has a 359 tooth drive gear , driven by a worm assembly ,a belt and a stepper The ra assembly was welded to a hinge that was welded to a piece of 1/2"plate and is ajusted with 2 threaded rods with nuts,  for polar alignment. The dec assembly is 3/4" steel rod suported by pillow berrings with a course- 50-1 reduction, spring loaded worm assembly. The other reduction is composed of a gear on the stepper driving a secondary gear with a pully for a belt glued onto it
