Sand blasting-glass beading cabnett

I built this blasting cabnet in about 4 hours. It uses a portable sandblaster that you can get inexpencively  at many automotive part stores  and a shop vac. The box on the top has a furnass filter folded to fit inside. to help keep the grit  inside the blasting cabnet and out of the sweeper. It was just a  5 sided plastic box I had, one could be made out of wood simply. There are two light windows on the top also.

The filter box is 9-1/2x11-3/4" There is a wood strip inside the box to hold the filter from falling down, it is held in place by two screws through the sides of the filter box. All the top holes are 10x8" The only things that hold the door are the small wood blocks seen in the picture.

The cabnet dimentions are 30-1/2 wide by 17" high x21"deep. all main parts are 30-1/2"wide. The sides were fitted and cut  after the front back and top were assembled. The front piece is 8-1/2" high & the holes were made using a large coffie can for a pattern. The top is 12" ,the back is 17",  the bottom is 20", the door is 11-3/4 all 30-1/2" wide. There was a 1x1 installed to the underside of the top-front to keep the top from warping.

The gloves are simply old leather welding gloves attached to some old coat sleeves with some spray adheasive. I will probably sew them on in the future. They are stuck through the holes and stapled to the front of the cabnet.

I blasted everything you see here and was able to collect all the grit and put it back into the bag in the picture.
