In the summer of 1965, just after graduating from high school, a very handsome young southern boy from middle Tennesse enlisted himself in The United States Army.  Eager to serve his country in the throngs of The Viet Nam War era, he proudly wore the colors of his beloved country, The United States of America.  Thankfully, Danny never had to go to Viet Nam, but was instead sent to Korea.  After returning 'state side', Danny was stationed in Fort Bragg, NC.  It was on a trip home to meet his first niece, who is his namesake, that he had a motorcyle wreck.  During his hospitalization, it was discovered that Danny was a diabetic.  That was in the winter of 1967, and the beginning of a 30 year daily battle of survival  for him.  Medically discharged from the Army in the fall of 1968, Danny was terribly disappointed that he had to leave the Army.  He loved that life.
Danny was so proud to be "
Just A Simple Soldier".
