| White Eagle by delf4950 When the eagle spread its wings And flew upwards to the skies, He plucked one mortal from the earth And the mortal herd the cry: "Look beneath you, lowly mortal, And tell me what you see, Is that place from whence you came Such a peaceful place to be? See the earth and its destructions, See what man has done to earth, With the sins of its corruptions, It will sing a song of dearth. Stop it now before it's ended, Spread the word out far and near, That the day will soon be coming When mankind shall live in fear. For the earth shall know no pity For the Lord will show His wrath, For deaf ears heard not His pleading, From them Holy words did cast. No more will you see the mountains, All the waters will be freed, Fire will take your woods and creatures, For man thinks only of his greed. Mighty cities all shall crumble Little towns shall cease to be, As the world begins to tremble Will He hear your humble plea? Yes, there's still time for full pardon If darkened hearts begin to sway, If mankind loves God's earth around them He will hear you, if you pray. You must all stop the killing, No more blood allowed to flow On the earth that God created That was once a golden glow. If you pray to God for mercy, Ask forgiveness for the crimes That was done against our Creator, Earth will last for all of time." Then the eagle took the mortal Back to earth whence he'd come, "Tell the people what you heard here, Show them what they have become." As the mortal stood there frightened By what the eagle'd bade him see, Came a thundering voice around him, "LOOK AT WHAT THE EARTH COULD BE!" Then the mortal saw a new world Filled with beauty, healed with love, A world renewed by mankind's effort, And a compassionate God above. Then a whisper...soft...commanding, Bid the eagle start its flight, T'ward the skies where God was waiting, Up it soared through the dark night. As if flew, it lost its colors Heading for the calling voice, And the mortal saw a white eagle, Heard his call..."You will rejoice." Delia D Greenacre (written in 1993, given by spirit.)
