The One Foot Man

The thing danced on the rocks,
and danced in the wreath
of the endless night.

In this night the moon was a ghost,
her light glossing the landscape.

way, way, In the Mountains.
The thing danced.

The fire burned.
Old were his dreams.
Alone in the trees.

It came around midnight hour,
In the heavy forest it roamed.
Looking for him, finding him!

Known only as a myth.
It's secret bewildered the boyish, man.
The fire turned wild.
His voice was muffled.

That is when he saw it.

The cold winds blew.
It ran around in circles,
blinking it's beady eyes.

It sang strange, and mocked the man

It was a trickster.
The game was played.
The Boy was quieted.
The man was shut up.

Then only the sound of footsteps.

The fire turned red.
unearthly music began to play.

Then all was quiet beneath the starry
sky between the holes in the trees.

In his mind,
He prayed for peace,
and the Creator gave it to him.
