| Shadows by LouReeves In the shadow of the early morning sun, To a loving couple was born a son, In fertile soil the seed they did sow, With strength and vigor then did grow. In the shadow of the late morning sun, He found the beauty and then won, Her heart and her great strength, Together they worked the days' length. In the shadow of the early evening sun, Her days of labor were all but done, And in his caring arms she did die, Then he produced a grand sigh. In the shadow of the late evening sun, He no longer remained strong and young, And said it would be a great day to die, Then to the spirit world he did fly. With the returning of the sun each day, In the shadows they did play, Returned as seeds to fertile soil, And the world never to despoil! |
