Lonesome Cowboy No More
by

On the range, into the night, deep,
By the camp fire she did sleep.

And he gazed down upon her face,
So beautiful, with so much grace.

He leaned against his saddle, resting,
And in his mind, what happened, testing.

Her answer to his poem, true,
With words of kindness there were, too.

Attention captured, she knew best,
He answered quickly from the west.

With words of passion, he did score,
And she responded with many more.

Then to Texas she did fly,
For him, an angel, from the sky.

And no more S. C. did he drink,
With no more smoking, he did think.

Within the year, with spirits free,
They made a family, of three!
