Communion
by
kanee

My bare feet dangling in the water
With my back resting against a tree
I lazily gaze into the cloudless sky
Watching the eagle soaring so free.

I pick up the rocks and study them
For fossils Im hoping to find.
Hearing the waves break on the shore
Calms my heart, my soul and my mind.

I skip a rock on the waters surface
Disturbing a crane feeding nearby.
Nature seems to be hugging me
Im beginning to think I can fly.

The meadowlark sings a song for me
Carried to my soul on the wind.
My spirit becomes one with nature
And to heaven my prayers I send

Im in my element in this place
Amidst the woods, rocks, and lake.
Its where I go for healing or prayer,
For the communion I need to make.
