| Psalm To The Great Spirit by iwalkwiththewolf Oh Great Spirit, Creator of the universe and all life within it, I lift my voice in choruses of lasting praise to You for my deliverance... for I know You have always loved me, You always will and nothing can ever rob me of my deep and abiding love for You. ***** I walked with the Spirit, taking my first steps to loving trusting arms. I walked with the Spirit, running from the outstretched arms of strangers. I walked with the Spirit, laughing, knowing only goodness and kindness in my world. I walked with the Spirit, listening to the taunting jeers of those who hated me for being different. Spirit-filled, I took my seat in the places of knowledge, eager, excited to learn. Spirit-filled, I held my head high as the others spat upon me and called me names. Spirit-filled, I knelt to pray at the resting place of my ancestors. Spirit-filled, I was exiled from the land of my people. The Creator alone smiled upon my life's triumphs. The Creator alone wept as I wiped the blood from my feet after the exile and bondage. The Creator alone provided my shelter and food during the time of my great illness. The Creator alone grieved at the damage being done to His holy temple, my body and soul. Only by the love of the Great Spirit was I saved from the sacrificial altar. Only by the love of the Great Spirit did I regain my health and my sanity. Only with the love of the Great Spirit could I learn to trust again. Only with the love of the Great Spirit would I overcome the shadows of the seven deadly sins. I walked with the Spirit to take my place in history among all the races. I walked with the Spirit as I danced again with my brothers and sisters. I walked with the Spirit down the long corridors of time in eternity. I walked with the Spirit in love and laughter and forgiveness. ***** Oh Great Spirit, Creator of the universe and all life within it, I lift my voice in choruses of lasting praise to You for my deliverance... for I know You have always loved me, you always will and nothing can ever rob me of my deep and abiding love for You.
