In The Quiet
by

The fragments of our hearts and souls
flew from us on the delicate wings
of the songs we sang.
Year after year pieces of our beings
soared upward to be caught by the vaulted ceiling
adding richness to the glowing wood.

I watched the colored glass as it danced
in the early morning sun
Such magical sparkles of light
How they give life to the young man and his sheep.

I sit here in the silence
before the gathering.
My knees upon the bench as I glance toward the
candle cups
Feeling the presence of all who were here before
and more.

For here in the quiet
Is a feeling I can hear
I know now who I am
Be joyful of this grace sings my soul.
