I Can

Can you hear the wolf talk to the moon,
above the roar of the city at noon.
Can you see the eagle catch it's lunch in the lake,
Through the fumes, smog, and the smoke. It's about all I can take.
Can you smell the earth after it rains.
I try and I try but only in vain.
Can you touch your soul and see who you are.
It might be far away, too far.
Can you taste the land upon which you live.
Remember it might be all she has left to give.
