Teardrops of Her Soul
by

She left her village while young at age
Felt like she had to travel great lengths
After her Grandmother told her how afraid she was
Of going to the Great Beyond
Where she won't be able to understand the other languages
She wouldn't know what they were saying to her
She sure wished each Tribe had their own Great Beyond
It would be easier
The girl decided to go to each Indian village to learn their words
She returned after eight winters passing
She made it back in time to hear her Grandmothers last words
She told her that she was still afraid
Of going to a place with all those strange people
A place she was afraid to visit alone
Then her heart stopped
Teardrops of her soul appeared from her lifeless body
The girl couldn't stand to see her Grandmother in such pain at her
death
She ended her own life
Catching up with her Grandmothers soul
She held her hand
Then wiped the tears from her face
They walked slowly down the path to eternity
Trying to teach her all she had learned
Before they reached the Gates of the Great Beyond
Never did her Grandmother have a reason
To shed another tear
