| His Old Wooden Rocking Chair by eaglespirits02 She stood at her kitchen door Looking at the old wooden rocking chair her Grandfather Had placed under the large shade tree She could still see him sitting there rocking his last days away Singing in his Indian words Could remember him as he looked off into the sky when the sun was setting Behind the hilltop He seemed to be able to see many things in the sky Things that he looked forward to seeing at the end of each day He'd make his way to his chair Sit there until the earth turned dark The porch light was his sight to find his way back inside Now he's living in the sky past that hilltop The same place he visited within his eyes She misses him but sheds no tears She keeps the porch light on at night so he can see her as he rides with his Indian Spirits across the valley and back to the Great Beyond She sits in that old wooden rocking chair She now can see the things her Grandfather talked about but she couldn't see any of them until now Her Grandfather left her the visions left to him by his Ancestors She watches her Grandfather as he rides on his pony in the breeze Blowing into her Red soul |
